Scuppoz comes from the Italian phrase schioppare dei bicchieri which means to toast or celebrate with a glass. We hope you will do the same with these unique sweet treats from Ritrovo! Scuppoz products (from the mountain traditions of the Abruzzo Region) began from a passion for gathering gentian root and other mountain herbs over 40 years ago. The family transformed these local medicinal ingredients into restorative amari and digestivi made for mountain life among the sheepherders and local villagers. Later generations have added innovative flavor combinations such as red wine-based Ratafia liqueur made from dark cherries and red wine, as well as limoncello. In present day Ritrovo works with 4th generation artisan Anna Lanetti who has combined these traditional mountain elixirs into delightful artisan biscotti, all baked with stoneground Italian flour. She serves these in her very own tasting room and café, as well as offers to the best enoteche, shops, and wine bars in her area.
